Blue Ridge Welding owner, Tim Pletcher, has the following
to say about his AKS Plasma Cutter:
"I have been very impressed with the quality and reliability of these
(AKS) machines. They will hold the advertised accuracy, as new, but
even more important they will still hold the advertised accuracy even
after years of service."
"I purchased a used AKS machine in a private sale earlier this year for
use in my own shop. The machine is a 1994 model accu-cut fitted with
a Hypertherm HD1070 (with a 100A upgrade) and is controlled by a Burny
2.8 (used by AKS before they developed their own controller). The machine
had seen heavy use, (about 6400 hrs or 800 shifts) but was maintained
fairly well. After a tune up on the drive system, this machine now easily
holds +/- 0.015" up to 150 IPM. At slower speeds, it will hold
+/- 0.010". There are some new machines on the market that will
not even hold these tolerances!"
"My customers have been impressed with the accuracy and cut quality.
My operator, who has over 20 years of experience running burning machines,
has never seen a plasma cutting machine that will hold such tight tolerances.
My operator is always impressed how he can walk away from the machine
to perform another activities while the machine is cutting. Most machines
that he has operated require constant attention." |
